    The Eaglebots and Mr. Luviano

On January 21, 2023, our Robotics Team, the Eaglebots, participated in the FIRST Lego League Tournament which was held at KIPP Polaris. Over 300 teams participated in the tournament, which consisted of four parts: the Project Presentation, the Core Values, the Robot Design and the Robot Performance. The theme for the tournament is "Superpowered": an investigation of where energy comes from and how it is distributed, stored, and used.

In every FIRST competition, there is one thing that is always evaluated, and that is Gracious Professionalism. That is defined as "a way of doing things that encourages quality work, emphasizes the value of others, and respects individuals and the community". We are proud to say that our students always meet and exceed expectations in that aspect of their participation. In addition to that, our team won 2nd place on the Innovation Project and therefore qualified to participate in the East Regional Qualifier on February 11, 2023. Our students will be able to participate virtually directly from Burbank Middle School.

We are very proud of our team and are absolutely sure that they will do an excellent job. Many thanks go to Mr. Sergio Luviano for all his help with the team. Special thanks go to Dr. Ortiz for her outstanding dedication to our Robotics Program. Good luck on Saturday!
