January 5, 2024

  • Campus Based – The entire day is campus-driven professional development. The morning (8 AM – 12 PM) must be strategic campus-based professional development. The afternoon can include time for PLC and teacher lesson internalization. There will not be any off-campus district-wide training for teachers and instructional staff (teacher apprentices, learning coaches, teacher aides, etc.). Campus leadership should submit PD Plans to Division Executive Directors, by December 15th.

February 19, 2024

  • Campus and District Based - See SCHEDULE-AT-A-GLANCE below.

    • The morning (8 AM – 11:30 AM) is campus-driven professional development.
    • The afternoon (1 PM – 4:15 PM) are district-wide PD courses and/or campus teacher PLC sessions.

    Courses may be delivered as in-person or virtual sessions. Refer to the course catalog posted on the PD website.

REGISTRATION

  • Registration for district-wide afternoon break-out sessions

    1. Teachers must pre-register by TBD for selected afternoon break-out trainings, as applicable.
      • NOTESome teaching roles may not have relevant district-wide training and will remain on campus for PLS and/or learning sessions.
    2. Space is limited for in-person and virtual courses. Registration is required to ensure capacity is not exceeded at the training facility. 
    3. The Multi-Classroom Leaders (MCL) will be auto-enrolled in their afternoon break-out (1-4 PM)

Know Before You Go

    • Bring your HISD ID badge to scan in for registration.
    • Bring your personal toolkit and your snacks/water.
    • If attending an in-person training session, dress in layers. The rooms may be cold.
