Delivering on Promises, Improving Our SchoolsHISD is delivering on promises made as part of the 2007 bond program. As of September 2012, 20 new schools have been opened and renovations/repairs have been completed at more than 134 campuses.

Twenty new schools have been built and are open, with three currently under construction and two in the planning stage.

All schools in the district will receive safety and security upgrades, including new fencing, security cameras, public address systems, and other security enhancements.

Major renovations and repairs to 134 schools and improve infrastructure at all large stadiums. All middle- and high-school science labs will be updated and improved.
