Description

  • Patterson Elementary School received a new campus with funds provided by the 2007 bond program. The new campus replaces one opened in 1958 with a capacity for 350 students, but served more than 1,000 prior to the new school's opening. Before the new campus was completed, more than two-thirds of the school's students were housed in temporary buildings. The new campus effectively serves 900 students.

Before the new school, sidewalks around the school would flood, making it difficult for students to move throughout the school. Restroom facilities were inadequate and the technology capabilities were not up to standard.

The new campus features new technology in every classroom, including wireless internet, restrooms in each wing of the building and new HVAC systems. There are also fewer entry points into the school, helping to keep children safe.
