Naviance is available to all 6th - 12th grade Houston ISD students and parents! With Naviance, students can find colleges are careers using research tools, career and personality assessments, and College SuperMatch - the leading online college research tool.

Seniors are able to build a college list to keep track of transcript requests, college applications and teacher recommendations. These tools keep the college application process organized, streamlined and allow full communication between students, counselors and parents.

In order to fully utilize the program, the HISD college readiness department has created video tutorials on Naviance's many features. We highly encourage you to watch the videos linked in the left navigation (Student Tutorials, Staff Tutorials, Parent Tutorials) and reach out to your school's counselor or college access coordinator if you need additional information or help.

    Research Careers
Naviance Family Connection offers the “Career Interest Profiler” as an on-line career interest assessment for students based on Holland’s interest codes. The “Do What You Are” feature begins with a personality inventory and concludes with a report describing the student’s personality type, potential careers, and related majors. The results link students directly to detailed career profiles, which include educational requirements, salary data, and in some cases, even multimedia presentations. Students may also link directly to the college database to find colleges that offer an educational path to each career.
    Take a Learning Style Inventory
The innovative Learning Style Inventory gives important insights about how students learn in order to help each student achieve maximum potential. The tool assesses the following dimensions that affect a students’ learning: immediate environment, emotionality, sociological needs, and physical needs.
    Research Colleges
Compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted in the past.
