Ms. Emily Santiago M.A.
Ms. Emily Santiago-Fernandez is a Bilingual (Spanish/English) School Psychologist. Ms. Santiago moved from Mayagüez, Puerto Rico to Houston, Texas. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology in the University of Puerto Rico and have a master's degree in School Psychology from Interamerican University in Puerto Rico. She specializes in evaluation, assessment, and psychoeducation of a variety of behavioral, emotional, child development, and/or academic issues. She is an experienced and compassionate professional, who has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and families in different non-profit organizations as a Bilingual Family Educator, Early Childhood Specialist, Autism Support Group Coordinator, Family Development Worker, and Intervention Support Associate. Her skills are a unique blend between school psychology, family supports and special education. Her experience includes working with children, adolescents, and families with issues of anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disorders, intellectual disability, autism, family conflict, and acculturation. Ms. Santiago has experience providing parent support, training, and school-based consultations. All this experiences since 2008 gave her the capacities to gain a more in depth understanding and collaborative about special education. Her goal is continue providing support and engagement between families, students with disabilities and staff as a Parent Liaison in HISD. In her free time, Emily loves to be with her family: go to the baseball games, enjoys traveling, baking and play with her dogs.
