Ann Sledge Instructional Coach Excellence Award (Campus-level & District-wide)
-
Various instructional influences support the achievement of our students. A powerful method to accelerate and support classroom instructional practices is through job-embedded coaching. Houston ISD values these collegial partnerships of our campus-level and district-wide Instructional Coach and Teacher Leader roles that enrich instruction across classrooms. One great model of exemplary coaching was through the work of the late Ann Sledge, who dedicated over 30 years in HISD. Ann Sledge’s leadership led to great professional growth and positive impact for many. In honor of Ann Sledge, and in partnership with the Sledge family, one campus-level and one district-wide instructional coach are recognized for their outstanding contributions to building instructional capacity of teachers to positively impact student achievement.
