Vertical Alignment Matrix

  • The Vertical Alignment Matrix (VAM) provides a developmental map of student objectives in the HISD Curriculum by content area over a number of grades. Each row of a VAM indicates the progression of a set of related content or skill objectives from one grade level to the next. Each column reflects one course/grade-level content area. All the student objectives in a grade-level span for a content area are included in the Vertical Alignment Matrix for that span.
