Students must meet the following eligibility requirements in order to apply:

• HISD Yates High School senior at the time of application submission
• Applied to a college, university, or two-year community college program
• Minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
• Must have completed the FAFSA or TASFA
• Employees & children of employees of Academy Sports + Outdoors are not eligible for this scholarship

1. The application must be completed in its entirety.
2. An official high school transcript must be submitted.
3. One letter of recommendation from an HISD teacher, community leader, or a manager from the student's job/internship.
4. Proof of admission to a college or university, if selected.
5. An essay addressing one of the following prompts:
   1. How has your participation in extracurricular activities at school, work, or in the community aid in the advancement of equity, empowerment, and education?
   2. How does participation in extracurricular activities at school, work, or in the community influence your success in the classroom?
