Assistant Principal Candidate Development Opportunity (APCDO)

The Assistant Principal Candidate Development Opportunity (APCDO) cohort is designed to increase the capacity of emerging campus leaders via a year-long leadership development program. The cohort was created to meet the district’s need for effective Assistant Principals. Texas Standards for Principal Certification and HISD’s School Leadership Framework serve as the guide in the curriculum development where participants are provided opportunities to engage in experiences within the comprehensive course work that includes case studies, performance simulations, and job-embedded learning activities. The intended outcome for cohort members is to advance their instructional leadership aptitude as well as enhance their overall leadership skills.
