The HISD Police Department works to ensure students and staff are safe and the community is confident in the safety of the district. The only accredited public school district police department in the nation, as designated by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, HISD PD responds to more than 80,000 calls per year and covers more than 300 square miles in the Houston area.
