What is Reading Fluency?
Reading Fluency is an adaptive universal screening and progress monitoring assessment given at the beginning of the year to previous 6th grade students who did not meet 2024 Spring RLA standard passing requirements.
“In accordance with the Texas Education Code (TEC) §28.006(c-1), each school district and open-enrollment charter school is required to administer at the beginning of Grade 7 a reading instrument adopted by the commissioner to each student whose performance on the assessment instrument in reading administered under TEC §39.023(a), to the student in Grade 6 who did not demonstrate reading proficiency, as determined by the commissioner. The district shall administer the reading instrument in accordance with the commissioner's recommendations under the TEC §28.006(a)(1).”

Where do teachers log in?
Posted by:Teachers will be administering the assessment to their students. They will log in using the NWEA Platform:

How do teachers administer the assessment?
Posted by:Once logged in to NWEA platoform, the teachers will see the "Reading Fluency" button, select it and choose "Access Map Reading Fluency." All students will populate in the platform, but only qualified students should be administered the assessment.

Where do students log in?
Posted by:Students will not be using a lockdown browser for Reading Fluency, they will be using an approved browser (Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge) and log in with URL:

When can I see reports?
Posted by:Student reports are avaliable immediately after administering the assessment in the "Reports" section of the Reading Fluency platform.
