• Visit from Angleton ISD

    Visitors2
On October 18, 2016, Burbank Middle School welcomed visitors from Angleton ISD. They had come to learn about our ESL and Dual Language Program. Principal David Knittle, accompanied by Director Rosa Hernandez, escorted our visitors to the Data Room, where everything was set up to have a working breakfast. Our SSO Daryl K. Sherman joined us just as we were about to start with the introduction to the basic objectives of the program. Principal Knittle introduced Dr. Linda Velasquez, our ESL and Dual Language Coordinator, who went on to explain details such as the vertical alignment of the ELA classes for our beginner ESL students. This enables a seamless move from one level to another as the students make progress in their language acquisition. Our Master Schedule has been designed to provide not only this alignment, but the possibility of multiple academic interventions throughout the school day.

After the presentation, our visitors enjoyed classroom visits where they were able to see the implementation of the program.
