Spanish Text-to-Speech on Windows Computers - Grades 3 to 5 STAAR PRACTICE, STAAR Interim, and STAAR

ISSUE

The Spanish language pack Text-To-Speech does not work on Windows computers imaged before September 1st, 2022. When conducting the audio check, the error message “PROBLEMA DE AUDIO” appears. This error message will appear when performing the Text-to-Speech Sound Check in the TX Secure Browser V 15 and the TEA Operational Test Site.  

SOLUTION

• Re-image
• If there is no time to re-image, you may test students on Chromebooks

ADDITIONAL NOTES

STAAR Spanish with no Text-To-Speech is not affected.

STAAR English is not affected.
