Superintendent's Public Engagement Committee
-
Description: Created in November 2007 by the superintendent of schools, this committee was formed to support the district's public-engagement outreach initiative by communicating critically important information to key community members and gaining valuable input on district issues and initiatives. See related article here.
How to Participate: Each HISD Board of Education member may nominate up to three parents, business leaders, and community members from his or her district to serve staggered two-year terms. Other community representatives are nominated by the superintendent of schools, who chairs the committee. To be considered as a future committee member, contact your trustee.
