The purpose of the Benefits Advisory Committee is to provide benefits information to committee members and encourage benefits discussions. The committee is composed of representatives from the Houston Federation of Teachers, the People’s Choice, Houston Educational Support Personnel, and the Congress of Houston Teachers. The committee also includes personnel from the Benefits Department and other HISD departments and campuses.

The Benefits Advisory Committee also discusses ideas for new benefits programs and is given information on upcoming benefits implementation, procurement projects, and much more. The minutes are provided for interested parties. The committee meets virtually once a month when possible.
