3 Steps to Start A Plan
-
You may start or change your voluntary retirement savings at any time in three easy steps!Step 1: Contact a financial services company from the active providers list and ask to open an HISD 403(b) or 457 retirement plan account. Employees may discuss plan information and choose from fixed account and investment options with the financial services representative or agent. Different providers provide different savings plan contract types (Annuity Investment Contracts, Non-Annuity Investment Contracts, 403(b) Contracts, Roth 403(b) Contributions Accepted, 457 Contracts).Step 2: Once the retirement account is established, you must create a login to “Retirement Manager” at: www.myretirementmanager.com. Retirement Manager is the HISD web-based retirement plan administration system.Step 3: After logging in to Retirement Manager, employees select the contribution amount per payday and choose their financial services provider. Contributions will be sent to the retirement account provider automatically.Congratulations if you have a 403b or 457 retirement account, you’ve made a great decision! Your provider is a great resource to help navigate your options. If you don’t have an account, contact a provider today to get started - it’s never too early or too late to plan your retirement. Please contact the HISD Retirement Storefront at 713-695-5561 for questions about the HISD Plans or your rights and obligations under the plans.
