A Perfect Ending to a Perfect Year!

I would like to express my sincere THANK YOU to ALL of you, Principal Knittle, Mr. Pineda, and the Burbank Administration, for the overwhelming support karate receives each year, every year, and for the ending event (UFAF/ITC World Championships) in Las Vegas. With your dedicated support our students were are able to experience life changing experiences and the ability to build their character that will mold them into successful individuals.

Burbank students have continued to represent themselves, their families, their school, and KICKSTART KIDS in a positive and motivating way. They have surely made memories that will last a lifetime! This past week in Las Vegas at the 2017 UFAF/ITC World Championships (3) Burbank students represented themselves, their families, their school, KSK, and Grand Master Norris, demonstrating all the KSK Values through their actions. Watching them socialize with other students from around the world was amazing. Watching them learn, teach, and guide made me proud and grateful to be their teacher. Words can't really describe it!

The KSK TEAM of students, instructors and Administration were lucky to have a huge family experience! Our Burbank students gave up 5 hours a day during summer karate, pushing themselves extremely hard to prepare themselves for this event and they were blessed with an AMAZING experience and results!

Our 6th/7th grade team competed against twelve other teams. They performed flawlessly and tied for 1st place. However, after eliminating scores, the team ended up with a 2nd place overall. Our 8th grade team moved up to the highest division and competed against high school and college students. They rose to the occasion and earned an awesome 4th place overall!

We have closed the first semester in great form. On November 16, 2016, our school had the Math and Science Family Night and our team performed at the beginning of the evening. We had more than 50 students stay and participate, giving their support to the Math and Science Department.

The following month on December 8, 2016, we had our Fall Karate Belt Ceremony. Two hundred and forty (240) students performed and received their corresponding belts. We had a great turn-out of parents and guests who supported our students throughout this semester. You can read the story here.

Welcome back! After an incredibly successful year, we capped our achievements by capturing seven titles and three World Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our students and parents raised the money needed to send us to competition and they were completely rewarded for their efforts. I am looking forward to a year of even greater achievement and success. I know my students, and I am confident that with honor, discipline and integrity, the sky's the limit!

    Sincerely,
